The objectives of the sixth kind of United States troops are called - to protect the interests of the country in space and repel aggression.

US President Donald Trump has signed a memorandum on the creation of the US Space Forces, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the text of the memorandum, which circulated the White House.

• "Although the United States space systems have historically maintained a technical advantage over potential adversary systems, these potential adversaries promote their own space potential, developing ways to prevent us from using space during times of crisis and conflict,” the document says.
  
  

As noted, the Pentagon is tasked with developing a legal justification for this. With the permission of Congress, the sixth branch of the military - the space force - will be created under the auspices of the US Air Force Ministry. In the future, the Space Forces will become a separate agency.

The objectives of the troops being created are the defense of US interests in space, “repelling aggression and defending the country”, as well as “projecting military force in space, from space and into space”.

Earlier, Channel 5 reported that the United States announced the "substitution" of the Russian missile at a briefing on the INF Treaty. American intelligence claims that, instead of the controversial weapon, the Russian Ministry of Defense showed some kind of "other missile" to the military attaches.
