This was reported by Reuters. According to preliminary data, the oversight of the issuance of visas to staff of institutions, as well as funding from foreign governments, will be strengthened. At the same time, the Chinese Embassy in Washington issued a statement by the country's Foreign Ministry that the activities of the institutions are absolutely legal, transparent and open. Currently, there are about 100 Confucius institutes in colleges and universities and about 500 Confucius classes in the United States. This is a network of Chinese cultural and educational centers that were established by the State Committee for the Promotion of Chinese Language Abroad of the Ministry of Education of China. December 5 last year, Bloomberg published a forecast, which identifies the main political risks for the development of the global economy in 2019. According to the agency, one of the main dangers are trade wars, in particular the confrontation between the USA and China. Despite the fact that the parties have agreed to suspend the mutual introduction of trade duties, such disagreements in themselves can mean the first stages of a “prolonged cold war”. On February 24, at the annual ball of the US governors at the White House, US President Donald Trump announced that he was going to conclude a new trade deal with the PRC, which would become “wonderful for both countries.” ![]() ![]() ![]()
